PUREX HB-RN is a two-component hybrid polyurea/polyurethane spray coating system for the production of high-quality seamless protective coatings on concrete, metal, and wood substrates. Combining the properties of both polyurea and polyurethane, it is positioned as a more cost-effective alternative to pure polyurea systems while still delivering fast-curing, seamless, waterproof coatings with good mechanical resistance.
Like PUREX AM, the system is applied using specialist high-pressure spray equipment with components mixed in the spray gun chamber. A minimum applied coating thickness of 2.0mm in at least two layers by cross method is recommended. The substrate temperature during application must be at least 3°C above the dew point temperature. Component A must be thoroughly mixed before use to achieve a uniform colour without discolouration or trails — incorrect mixing can impair the component ratio and compromise coating quality.
PUREX HB-RN is suited to applications requiring protective coatings on concrete and steel surfaces exposed to mechanical impact, moisture, and chemical environments — including automotive industry surfaces prone to corrosion and mechanical damage, concrete protection for moisture control and physical resistance, and surfaces exposed to high temperatures up to 120°C and occasionally 150°C. The product is CE marked and assessed in accordance with European harmonised standard PN-EN 1504-2:2006 — the standard for surface protection systems for concrete.
The coating changes colour or darkens under UV exposure, which may affect mechanical properties over time. A UV-resistant topcoat is recommended for outdoor applications or where colour stability is required. For professional and industrial use by trained operatives only. Available in Ireland and the UK through Spray Foam Direct Distributions.
