Product Overview

PUREX AM is a two-component pure polyurea spray coating system for the production of high-quality seamless protective coatings on polyurethane foam, concrete, metal, and wood substrates. It is applied using specialist high-pressure spray equipment, with components mixed in the spray gun chamber and applied under high pressure to produce a continuous, joint-free coating with excellent mechanical and chemical resistance properties.

The system delivers a tack-free surface in 14–18 seconds, making it one of the fastest-curing coating systems available for industrial and construction applications. A minimum coating thickness of 2.0mm applied in at least two layers by cross method is recommended to achieve the full mechanical performance of the finished coating. The substrate temperature during application must be at least 3°C above the dew point temperature to prevent moisture being trapped beneath the coating.

PUREX AM is suited to applications requiring permanent protection of steel and concrete structures exposed to chemical environments and water — including foundations, roofs, basements, balconies, terraces and ponds; steel tanks above and below ground; water storage and sewage treatment tanks; swimming pool and fountain waterproofing and lining; gutters, sewers and piping components; automotive and bus loading surfaces; and surfaces exposed to high temperatures up to 140°C and occasionally 180°C. The system holds a PZH Hygienic Certificate confirming its suitability for contact with drinking water (Certificate No. PZH B-BK-60210-1168/19), making it appropriate for potable water tank lining and pool applications.

The coating changes colour or darkens under UV exposure, which may affect mechanical properties over time. For long-term colour and mechanical parameter stability, it is recommended to protect the finished coating with a UV-resistant topcoat. The product carries CE marking and a Declaration of Performance has been issued for it. For professional and industrial use by trained operatives only. Available in Ireland and the UK through Spray Foam Direct Distributions.
